About me, eh? This part is all about me? It's nice to have a little section about me stuck in between all the writing and whatnot. So.....me. I was born in the Elliot Hospital in Exeter, New Hampshire on September 29, 1981. I lived in Raymond, New Hampshire for the first twelve years of my life. Oh man, what a backyard we had at that house. 2.4 acres it was. There was a huge apple tree separating the upper half from the lower that blossomed every spring. Big lilac trees lined the yard by the road. I think I miss those the most. Well, maybe not the most. The large hemlock tree was great. So big and perfect for climbing. No, the thing I miss the most was the in ground pool. Yeah, that was great. Well, as I'm sure you can see, we didn't stay in New Hampshire. A pity, because we own about 11 acres up in the northern part of the state. Our move to Lyme, Connecticut made it difficult/impossible to go see that property every year like we used to. Anyway, Dad got a new job and we were off to Lyme. Yes, it's the town where Lyme disease was first diagnosed. That means the town came before the disease. I would like to point out that in the ten or more years I've lived there, I've never had Lyme disease, though I've known people who've had it multiple times and are fine. Lyme was very different from New Hampshire and it took a long time to get used to it. The friends that I made in Lyme were the only reasons I had to enjoy my time there. All in all, I wasn't too terribly sad to see it go when I went to school down in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Mary Washington College. No, it's not a private college. No, it's not Catholic. And no, it's not all girls. It's a public college in the state of Virginia. It's not even called Mary Washington College anymore. Now it's the University of Mary Washington. Not that big of a change, but you wouldn't believe the controversy attached to the change. I'm proud to say that I was part of the last graduating class of Mary Washington College. While in Fredericksburg, I met people who have since become a huge part of my life. Two of these people have since married. A beautiful ceremony that I'm proud to have been a part of. Despite having to wear pink to do so. You might see some of these people in my guestbook or on the forum eventually. You will most certainly see these people in the dedications to many of my novels, should any of them get published. It was during these years that I found my love of writing. The summer before I left for college, I wrote my first short story. That story, The Forgotten Child, is actually in the book I just had published (check out the works section for more info). Once in college, I started my first novel, which I have since revised and am slowly posting on Saintshaven.com (you should check that out too). Sophomore year gave me the first two of the series I'm currently looking to get published (all those are on the future works page). Junior and senior years gave me the second series I'm working on and now I've got yet another something new. Life moves pretty fast, in a manner of speaking. These things do take a long time to write, after all. Now, I'm a college graduate, proudly holding a BA in English. I'm living in Groton, CT with my boyfriend, Richard. It was also during those college years that I met him and I don't think I've been happier in my life. It's completely thanks to him that I have a website. Thanks, honey and love you always (and all of you who are reading that and going "awwwwww, that's so cute coming from Stine" can go ahead and kiss my ass. You all know who you are *cough cough* Judy *cough cough* April *cough cough). I'm looking for a new literary agent, my last one being less than helpful in getting me published. And I'm still looking to get published, of course. I'm always holding out hope for that.
